Successful activation of the ring lasts for one scene and during this time, the bearer may ask questions and discern the veracity of the individual's answers. If the target of the questions wishes to lie, they must roll their manipulation + subterfuge (difficulty 8) and match or beat the activation successes. If the target lies and fails (or botches) their roll, the ring emits a high-pitched ring for all to hear. Ex: 'Did you put the papers on the floor?' 'No.' (No, gravity did it. I just let go of the papers. It's the truth...from a certain perspective, but the ring will find it to be deception. The ring cannot tell the bearer _why_ it is a lie, just that it is.)
